Bardia Pezeshki received his Ph.D. from Stanford, and has led research at IBM T.J. Watson center, SDL, and other places. He is a serial entrepreneur, and has generated, developed, and commercialized optoelectronic technology that resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue. The tunable laser developed at his first start-up Santur carried a majority of the world’s long-haul internet traffic, while at his second startup Kaiam, he helped develop the first practical multiwavelength high bandwidth optical transceiver at 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s, serving the majority of the big datacenter customers. His latest start-up, Avicena, aims to solve the chip-to-chip data bottleneck using visible wavelength microLEDs. |
